Prof. Cyrielle Caussy, Lyon Hepatology Institute, Lyon University, Member of the Governing Board of EASL

Cyrielle Caussy (MD, PhD) is a full Professor of Medicine in Nutrition and an endocrinologist-diabetologist at Lyon 1 University and Hospices Civils de Lyon in France specialized in metabolic diseases. She is also a researcher at CarMen laboratory (Cardio-Metabolism, Diabetes and Nutrition) INSERM U1060. She completed her MD training in 2013 and her PhD in Biochemistry at Lyon 1 University in 2015. Following her fellowship, she completed a 2-year advanced research training at the NAFLD Research Center, University of California at San Diego directed by Pr R. Loomba (2016-2018). Subsequently, she returned to Lyon 1 University as faculty in the department of endocrinology, diabetes and nutrition, Lyon South Hospital at Hospices Civils de Lyon. Currently, she serves as the medical director adjunct of the Rhône-Alpes Research Center for Human Nutrition (CRNH Rhône-Alpes), where she conducts translational and clinical research in Nutrition.

Her academic interests lie in metabolic diseases such as insulin resistance, obesity and type 2 diabetes with a particular focus on steatotic liver disease and MASLD. She leads a clinical and translational research program focusing on metabolic liver disease including multidisciplinary pathway referrals, non-invasive biomarkers and pathophysiology of steatotic liver diseases at the Lyon Hepatology Institute. Furthermore, she co-leads the national AFEF/SFD Liver and Diabetes study group.
